CHAPTER 3
People were wailing and sobbing as they saw their homes break apart and crumble to the ground. People were terribly injured with dead bodies everywhere like they meant nothing; like they weren’t people with who once had a normal life with friends and family. Really terrible, really. My heart stopped for a second as I saw the place that was once home for me turn into something indescribable. I didn’t waste any time in scurrying through what our living room was once. I cried out loud, glancing around,
“MUM”!
“DAD”!
I called with hopes of getting a response. My parents were both crushed chests down to death. I rushed to them sobbing. I had to get to them despite our home suddenly collapsing around me. I put my hands on their cheeks sobbing.
“God, why oh no please”
“why”?
I screamed as I felt a pang of pain in my chest. Now I’m all alone in this word with my parents were gone and I was an only child. I would have to be smart and strategic to stay safe. Never in a million years would I have imagined myself in a situation like this. I stayed with them till the little left of what was once our home begin crumbling.
“I love you with all my heart”
“I hope you’re both at peace and together”
I said, as I kissed both their foreheads and shut their eyes close as I ran for my life as the home slowly collapsed around me, burring them with it. That day, both the world and I changed as I knew I was scarred for life and there was no going back to completely normal for me.
