A note to myself, on my 31st Birthday

For my 31st birthday… I want to write a note to myself:
I know you seek constant improvement.
You always want to be better than who you were yesterday.
I see your insecurities, I see you fears, I see your doubts, I see YOU… You have to unlearn that your sensitivity is a weakness.
You were told to hold your tears, to be strong, not to feel what you feel, to deny your pain,
To stop being so sensitive!
Stop getting emotional so easily!
Stop being who you truly are!
For your 31st birthday, I want to tell you that your sensitivity is your uniqueness. That your sensitivity is the key to empathy …an ability that many people are lacking. Being surrounded by cruelty makes it harder for you to be carefree, to cry, to show passion, to express resentment, and to be genuine, because you are just too much…
I want you to be too much! be high-maintenance for only high-effort people will stay.
For your 31st birthday I want you to be who you are, to show it freely and to love people how they need to be.
Cheers to all the HSP out there …
