CHAPTER 8
That day, everyone’s body became cold as we came to serious a realization that nowhere in this world was safe anymore as anyone could be next. Everyone kept to themselves and was quiet. David tried to reassure everyone that it was all fine and we needed to calm down. A lot of the members seemed calm, but I was still stricken with fear as I sat in one place and kept to myself.
“I don’t want to die”
“I am going to so survive no matter what”
I kept muttering to myself and before I knew it, it started getting dark as everyone was getting ready to sleep. After a couple of hours, everyone fell asleep. I woke up due to uneasiness and saw that we were much less now. We were four! How could we be four as fear took over me. Our six new members, and old man, and David were gone! I went outside the building and heard some noise coming from the back. I hid behind and watched the gruesome act happening; the poor old man’s neck being snapped like it meant nothing. Then, I noticed the bodies of the missing people around and tears filled my eyes. The six new members were not with us for good intentions. They were savages! We trusted them and David welcomed them with open arms, and they do this to us? As I saw David, tears filled my eyes as I was about to see the man that was like a second parent get killed. He stepped forward looking at the old man’s lifeless on the ground and I was sure that he had already lost hope and was about to accept fate; but no! He had a smirk on his face, and let out an evil laugh as the rest joined in. Oh my God! David is one of them! A savage! I felt a pain in my chest similar to what I felt when I saw my parents’ lifeless body. I and the four members were next!
