Blasphemies Sonnet

I leave all my arrogance at the door

Head bent down, bathed in holy water

I eat only bread and sleep on the floor

I am now at your mercy, O father

I kneel and bow before your high priestess

Shine your light dear Apollo, advise me

My lover left me for she is heartless

And from her chains I need you to free me

I pray to Allah for five times a day

Five a night too, to better my chances

She’s made from fire, we’re all made from clay

Wicked demon she burned my defenses

I pray to all gods and lords to help me

Forget her no matter the blasphemy
