Meaning
The poem talks about the departure of a daughter to Rome to pursuit her studies. Also, it emphasizes on the relationship between the mother and the daughter that is pictured as a very strong and close relationship. It is shown through how they miss each other and how they are constantly thinking of each other. However, the daughter could not handle the distance that is separating from her mother and decided to come back home. The last line shows that God is fair but not letting 2 very close people separated for a long time.
