Tea for two

Can two people fall in love after twenty questions?
Can they like each other after 42 songs shared together?
After a drive? A few late-night chats? A thousand showers?
Start thinking and remembering one another
In the smallest things of life
In their back pocket, in their purse, in their wallet,
Between the pages of their favorite booklet
Tell me what to do and I’ll make it happen for you
To have you is what I ask from you
Like you asked and I answered all those calls and times with you
A picnic under a shower of falling droplets, under the stars, under the sun
Tell me what to do to not let you go with anyone
Else, or else poison my tea like you poisoned my soul,
infected my mind and spine,
And it will be up to you if you’d like to share it with me and be mine.
