Broken Trust

A broken and torn heart, crushed by the weight of a broken trust

Your words were silver and your promises were gold, but they are now

nothing more than hollow echoes.

Faith’s hushed mutterings have faded to silence

In a once-loving garden suspicion has grown

For you I sacrificed everything; I let my guard down

Your uncertainty has left a permanent mark on my emotions.

When the nightingale sang it was clear and beautiful.

A lament for a lost love plays now.

And yet even in the midst of suffering a truth emerged

In the deep core of the heart, all wounds are healed.
