I Asked My Grandmother, and Once She Said Yes.

When the days were still bright.

And my hair was still short.

I asked her for a trip.

And she said sure, why not.

We would go to beach.

Where you ran until you sweat.

We would buy a juice and watch the waves.

I would tell you a story when you are on my legs.

We would play together as a newly met friends.

I would recall my youth with you.

I saw my youth in you.

You would help me to walk, and I would help you to sleep.

I said we would swim together.

She spoke she could barely walk.

So why we would go to the beach then.

to watch you swim she said.

We would build castles from sand.

We could own whatever we want.

A house, a fort or a city

It was just us and the world we build.

We could invite whoever we want,

Protect it as our child,

Or destruct it when it’s time.

It was all for us and depend on us, she said.

the sea breezed our hair.

She was shiner than the sea.

Her purity took my breath away.

She always makes my heart sway.

I asked her to stay.

She said yes sure, why not.

Yet she left. for she used to fly…

As a breeze, angels cannot stay.
