I gaslight myself into not liking someone

As I am scared, they won’t feel the same

And as they gain interest mine fades away

A broken heart is never what I look for

But what a world of broken people we live for

I let my heart talk once and it led to a break –

A break in my life that made me doubt myself

My sanity non-existent, I tried to rebuild

Nobody there to help only me and my thoughts

Never alone, yet always lonely

A world with no hope is all I can see

Darkness filling every part of my body

Oh, to be alive in this horrible reality

Let me go is all I ask of you

But don’t expect any thank you from me

Way past the time where I felt at fault for those who hurt me

I now fight for myself

But darkness is winning everyday slowly

Light never truly existed following my theory –

It is a human creation to avoid insanity

Thought of you so highly

Now hell doesn’t seem low enough to hold you

Oh, to be the victim in your own story

Yet always the villain in the true story
